Telehealth Services Now Available
Heuser Hearing Institute is committed to keeping all of our patients connected and safe. We are in regular contact with officials and are following their guidance on our operations as it relates to COVID-19. We are currently staying open to provide essential services so our patients with ear, hearing and speech disorders can continue to hear urgent information from officials, communicate with their doctors, continue working and keep in touch with friends and loved ones. We also understand the risk that being out in public poses to some patients, so we have extended our telehealth services for those who would prefer scheduling an appointment by phone or video conferencing.
Please call our office at (502) 584-3573 to schedule a telehealth appointment.
Tele-Audiology
We offer remote programming of hearing devices and tele-coaching for in-home repair.
Tele-Speech-Language Therapy
We are putting policies and procedures in place to offer speech-language therapy services (both First Steps and current clinic-based services) to our patients and their families. Your child’s therapist will contact you to discuss these procedures, answer any questions you may have, and schedule sessions. Feel free to reach out to your therapist using email with questions or concerns.
Tele-Counseling
Heuser Hearing Institute’s Integrative Counseling & Wellness Clinic provides telehealth and video remote support by a licensed certified social worker for individuals, families and caregivers to cope with the stress and practical challenges of life and hearing health, as well as those in need of connection to other social and community-based resources.
Broken or Non-Functioning Hearing Devices
If you have broken or non-functioning hearing aids, please drop the devices off at one of our offices. After your hearing aids are dropped off, an audiologist or technician will assess the devices, make the necessary repairs, and call you when they are ready for pick-up.
Curbside care is available for this service. Patients will not be allowed to wait in the clinic while repairs are made. In the event your devices will need to be sent to the manufacturer for repair, we will notify you by phone.
We are committed to keeping you communicating with your friends, loved ones, coworkers, and health professionals during this challenging time. In addition to continuing to serve you, we are also considering the impact of the virus on our mission as a nonprofit organization. If you are in a position to do so, please consider helping support us during this difficult time with a charitable gift.
We are determined that come what may, we will continue to provide the highest quality of care to children with hearing loss and their families, not only during the current situation but long into the future as well.
