WAVE 3s Shannon Cogan to Host the 5th Annual
“Butterflies in Motion” Luncheon.
“Butterflies in Motion” Celebrates Your Favorite Movies while Supporting
Heuser Hearing & Language Academy.
New this year, the event Auctioneer is Elizabeth Monarch
(October 14, 2019)- Held October 17th, 2019 at the Brown Hotel, this unique fundraiser attracts some of the city’s most gracious and creative hosts and hostesses and challenges them to create a movie-themed table while inviting their guests to participate in the theme through their own wardrobe or accessories.
“Butterflies in Motion” is not your typical luncheon as guests are invited to decorate their table based off beloved movies. In the past tables have be decorated with real fire from “Jurassic Park”, authentic baseball costumes from “A League of Their Own”, and a real piano for the true “Casablanca” experience. The creativity knows no bounds!
“I could not be prouder of the Academy and the excellent care our teachers and staff provide for these children. We are so thankful for all who attend and donate towards “Butterflies in Motion” without this community involvement we could not continue to provide care to families free of charge. These contributions help give children who are deaf or hard of hearing in our community the gift of sound,” says Brett Bachmann, CEO of Heuser Hearing Institute.
Butterflies in Motion supports Heuser Hearing & Language Academy here in Louisville, KY. Proceeds go towards deaf and hard of hearing children throughout our community. Heuser Hearing & Language Academy provides cutting-edge clinical hearing healthcare services and medical, surgical and therapeutic treatment options for patients of all ages with outstanding staff of expert audiologists and otologists. Their groundbreaking, unique educational services for preschool and kindergarten-aged children with hearing, speech, processing and language disorders, difficulties and delays is award winning.
With a Silent and LIVE Auction guests can participate and donate to this wonderful cause in house or from their phones. Some of the high-end auction items include 6 tickets to The Lion King provided by PNC Broadway in Louisville with dinner at Vincenzo’s and a Regent Seven Seas Caribbean Cruise. Even if you can’t make the event you can bid on auction items online at https://one.bidpal.net/bim/welcome or you can text “bim” to 243725.
About Heuser Hearing & Language Academy
Since 1948, Heuser Hearing & Language Academy (HHLA), formerly the Louisville Deaf Oral School, has provided early intervention for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Their goal is to give each child a strong foundation from which to build a promising future. From birth to three, each child receives services through our Parent Infant Program. Once they turn three, they enter the Academy where they also receive intensive speech-language therapy, art therapy, music therapy and dance. Today the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy, on the campus of the Heuser Hearing Institute is a resource for over 150 students a year.
