Mission
Heuser Hearing & Language Academy (HHLA) is a comprehensive educational institution in Louisville, Kentucky, that empowers children who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) or have speech, language and communication disorders to reach their full potential and effectively participate in their communities.

Expanding Our Vision
HHLA is welcoming preschool-aged children in a general education setting as of the 2025-2026 school year. This evolution allows us to serve a broader population while maintaining the integrity of our mission. Creating inclusive classrooms provides opportunities for all children to learn alongside peers with diverse communication styles and strengths. This growth helps ensure long-term sustainability of our specialized programs, enriches the classroom experience for every child and promotes our core values as an organization. Our commitment to deaf education remains central to our identity. Research has proven that all early childhood children benefit from a language-rich environment, which HHLA has cultivated for over 75 years.
