Heuser Hearing Institute CEO Brett Bachmann has been selected as a finalist in the 2023 Oticon Focus on People Awards, a national competition that celebrates people who are helping to change perceptions of what it means to live with hearing loss. Brett is one of three finalists in this year\u2019s Hearing Loss Champion category, a category that recognizes individuals who share a passion to make the world a better place not only for people with hearing loss but for everyone through their professional, volunteer, cultural and civic endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brett is a passionate advocate for patient-centered care in the press, on industry panels, with the legislature in his home state of Kentucky, and with lawmakers in Washington D.C. Throughout his career, he has worked tirelessly to develop and implement programs that create lasting change, including a partnership with the Family Health Network that has significantly increased the number of low-income patients receiving free hearing care and hearing aids. Dedicated to making communities more diverse, inclusive, and better places to live, work and learn, he has spearheaded programs that address educational disparities, especially focused on the welfare of children with hearing loss and others who are marginalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vote for Brett and other finalists in the Adult Trailblazer, Student Standout, Hearing Loss Champion and Heroic Hearing Care Professional categories at www.Oticon.com\/FOP<\/a>\u00a0 through December 8. The total number of votes received by each finalist will help to determine who will be the first, second and third place winners in each category. First place winners receive a $2,500 cash prize and a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Eligible first place winners with hearing loss in the Student Standout, Adult Trailblazer and Hearing Loss Champion categories also receive Oticon BrainHearing\u2122 hearing aids.\u00a0 Second place winners receive a $500 cash prize and third place winners, a $250 cash prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
