There are several specialized telephone equipment options available to qualified individuals at&nbsp;<strong>no cost<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caption phones work a lot like closed-caption television. They display written captions of what your caller is saying on a large, easy-to-read screen. The phones work with a captioning service as part of a federally-funded program that supports telephone accessibility for people with hearing loss. The phone and services are free to qualified individuals and include installation and support; your monthly phone bill will not change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Telecommunications Access Program (TAP)&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kentucky residents may be eligible to receive a caption phone free of charge through the state\u2019s Telecommunications Access Program (TAP), which provides free telephone equipment to people with hearing loss.
