Debbie Woods has a bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree in elementary education and spent 15 years as an elementary school teacher before entering the field of early intervention. Along with these degrees, Debra holds two graduate teaching certifications for dual sensory impairment and deaf and hard of hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After her teaching career, Debbie worked with the Georgia Parent Infant Network for Educational Services (PINES), providing early intervention for children ages 0-3 with visual and multiple handicaps before joining Cochlear Americas as a parent advocate in 2004. From 2010-2012, Debbie was a member of the national advocacy association Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), representing parents of children with disabilities as an advocate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Debbie has been keynote speaker for Georgia PINES conferences and Heuser Hearing Institute\u2019s Sound Beginnings meetings. She was published in the National Center on Deaf-Blindness\u2019 fall 2009 and spring 2010 editions of Deaf-Blind Perspectives as well as in Volume 4, No. 1 of the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired\u2019s TX SenseAbilities newsletter in 2010.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
