Art Therapist
S. Jill Hedges is a licensed professional counselor (LPCC), a licensed professional art therapist (LPAT) and a registered play therapist (RPT). Jill received her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1978. She was an exchange student at the Hamburg Art Academy (HFBK) and the University of Hamburg in Germany from 1976-77. In 2006, Jill received her master’s degree in counseling psychology with a concentration in art therapy; she was named Outstanding Student in Expressive Therapies in 2008.
Prior to working as an art therapist, Jill received her paralegal certificate from the National Center for Paralegal Studies, an ABA approved program in 1982. In 1989, Jill was honored by the California Legislative Assembly with a Resolution, in full session, honoring her pro bono legal work in Sacramento, California supporting organizations fighting gangs and drugs.
In her spare time, Jill teaches an ethics class for professional counselors in Kentucky and volunteers as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) in Clark County, IN. In 2018, Jill received the Service Above Self Gold Leaf Volunteer award from the Rotary Club of Jeffersonville for her work with CASA of Clark County.
